Sale of 50% of Soar Aviation

Canterbury Partners acted as advisor to Soar Aviation on the sale of 50% of the business to Sydney-based private equity investor The Growth Fund.

Soar Aviation is Australia’s largest flight school with training centres at Moorabbin Airport, Bendigo Airport and Bankstown Airport. With over 45 aircraft, Soar Aviation offers globally recognised qualifications and licences from Commercial Pilot Licences to training and provisioning requirements for experienced pilots, instructors and examiners.

Through its partnership with The Growth Fund, Soar Aviation is seeking to increase its share of the pilot training market in Australia and Asia, at a time when increasing passenger numbers and services are causing pilot shortages.

The Growth Fund invests in businesses headquartered in Australia or New Zealand with an Enterprise Value of up to $200m.
